Redi’s field electricians and technicians are trained by the best—the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers—through a joint
effort of IBEW and the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), of which Redi has been a member for more than 25 years.
The apprenticeship program is federally approved, maintaining a demanding standard for professional skills. It’s no wonder Redi
Electric has a long history of superior results, developing many projects in their entirety, from design to completion.

The firm’s office staff also is continually trained in the latest technology, through its association with NECA.

While Redi Electric’s commitment to service will never change, the company always strives to improve and update its operations.

The latest examples include:

  •  New accounting procedures and hardware for faster and more accurate job cost estimating.
  •  Formation of a new division, Redi Data Solutions, to meet the information technology needs of customers.
  •  An updated identity with new colors and corporate look for our vehicles and equipment.
  •  New tools and equipment to increase productivity.

As a result of Redi’s drive to excel, customers get faster, more efficient service.

That service has been noticed by leaders in the field. In 2000, the Chugach Electric Association and the U.S. Postal Service recognized Redi Electric for the company’s participation in the construction of the world’s largest Fuel Cell Project. In 1993, the Associated General Contractors of Alaska named Redi Electric Subcontractor of the Year.

As a full service electrical contractor, Redi Electric works on new construction projects—both residential and commercial. The company also provides industrial electrical systems, utility support and communications assistance. More recently through a business agreement with an Alaska Native corporation, Redi has worked as a qualified minority business enterprise with 8(a) status. This relationship allows the firm to participate in a variety of federal contracting opportunities.

Redi Electric enjoys a successful partnership with First National Bank Alaska. Redi Electric’s longstanding affiliation with the bank has resulted in stability and significant growth. First National has been there all along, providing the necessary funding for expansion and major purchases since Redi Electric started. The bank assists current operations as needed through a significant line of credit. We also maintain a separate credit line for larger projects. Brady & Co. provides bonding and other insurance programs for Redi Electric. The Anchorage-based firm has an approved bonding line with Liberty Mutual, a member of Liberty Mutual Group.

Redi Electric’s construction specialists offer a diverse background of experience and hard-won skills. The company has the necessary technical support to empower clients to build virtually any project or structure they envision. Redi also has a winning promotional force. Since the installation of a new corporate sales management team, revenues have grown from $5.5 million in 1999 to $10.2 million in 2001 and exceeded $12 million in 2003. Redi Electric maintains a support staff of 17 and an average field production staff of 50 men and women. That includes a six-man camp in the North Slope Borough that operates the commercial electrical shop in Barrow, servicing the seven villages throughout the borough.

The company’s management team is headed by Robert K. Nelson, general manager. Separate biographical sketches on key personnel are found elsewhere in this corporate statement of qualifications.
